I'm behind. *sigh* I've been working on it every day, but I've been busy with tutoring, article writing, and book club reading, and I haven't been making my 500 a day.
I have more to say about this but I am wiped for today. After tortuous but uneventful drives on the snowy backroads out to and back from the boarding school, I heaved a sigh of relief to reach the better-plowed highway... and then lost it on a slippery exit ramp, shot across a busy cross-street, and nearly got my car stuck in a big-ass ditch. Ever since my wintertime car-totalling we-are-lucky-to-be-alive accident, I really freak the fuck out about losing control of the car on an icy/snowy road. I'm still a little jittery.
God, how scary! I'm so glad your skid didn't turn into an accident. This weather can be terrifying to drive in.
