Steady On

Made a good start on the next scene. Willa is reading about Alfred the Great, so I had to use some of my writing time to research. Did you know he probably had Crohn's Disease? Just like The Husband! Freaky!

  1. Since I have your blog in my reader, I don't get to comment as much, but I want to let you know that I'm really impressed with all this forward momentum.

I have to say, I still harbor a secret dream of reading Eleven Names someday, because the premise sounded so fascinating. But you seem to have a really great handle on this one; when you need a draft reader (or really, earlier!) I hope you'll think of your fans.

  2. Oh, I have every intention of getting back to Eleven Names one day. In fact, on the way back from tutoring tonight I listened to Bresher's theme song ("Emergency Exit" by Beck) and did a little idle dreaming. It's just such a friggin' complicated book, with the two POV's and the different timelines-- almost like two novels sharing the same space. I love it and think it has the potential to be amazing... but maybe tackling it for my first novel wasn't such a hot idea. And, hey-- The Owl Bearer is a prequel to EN, so it totally makes sense for EN to be the next book.
